Happy Tuesday Church!

How was the start to the minor prophets?  Our hope is that spending time in "the 12" becomes a transformative path in your walk with Jesus. May the Spirit use this time in His Word to strengthen your faith, grow your understanding of God, and stir your heart for His mission.  

A few questions from Sunday and Hosea are:
1.  How does Hosea's marriage illustrate God's covenant love for His people, and how is this ultimately fulfilled in Christ?  Does the faithfulness of God toward you grow your love for Him?
2.  How are you an "obstinate stubborn cow?"  This question makes a lot more sense if you listened to the sermon, but the point is this.  In what areas of your life have you not submitted to the Lord?  What old habits, lusts, or fleshly desires are you holding onto?

We talk a lot about family discipleship, we desire to be active in family discipleship, but it can be hard to know how to do it.   Here is a website and a podcast that offers very practical help in discipling your kids at home.  https://www.familydiscipleship.com/podcast.  I encourage you to check it out.

The Prophets
On Sunday we will start teaching through the minor prophets.   Here are 3 reasons why.
1.  To help us see how the whole Bible is approachable and important.
2.  In the prophets we see vivid pictures of God's character and love for people.
3.  The whole OT points toward Jesus.  The minor prophets are not about the men they are named after but about Jesus.

Happy Memorial Day. Today, we give thanks for our earthly liberties and soberly remember the great sacrifice required to protect them.
As the church, this day points us to an even greater reality: our ultimate freedom was purchased at the ultimate cost—the life of Jesus Christ, who broke the bondage of sin and death. Because we have been set free by grace, let’s leverage our earthly freedoms for His eternal kingdom—living boldly, sharing the gospel, and making disciples.

As GLC grows in number, we hope to use this new app as a tool that helps us stay connected to one another.  A few things to expect on the app:

From Pastor G -  Instead of a Tuesday email, I will now post on the app.  The goal is to send a brief summary of the sermon each week with questions that you can use for discussion with your Gospel family.   I also plan to use this as a place to share resources that go along with each week's teaching.  

Media - sermons (in both audio and video formats) can now easily be found on the app, website (glcjackson.org), or on YouTube.  We are not currently using our podcast platforms.

Events - All of our upcoming events are viewable in the app "events" tab.  You can click each event, add it to your calendar, and sign up to attend and/or bring food. Go to the events tab and sign up for Family Worship Sunday (May 31) and Trivia Night (June 6).

Group Messaging - Once everyone has downloaded the app, we will create messaging groups and get rid of Group Me.  Each team (children's, music, greeting, sound, etc) will have their own messaging group.  Each Gospel Family will also have their own group message.  

The app has many more features. Please take some time and explore it.

Happy Tuesday, Church!

It was such a joy to celebrate Easter together! My prayer is that God’s grace continues to shape us into His image and that we grow bold in sharing the good news.

There are some exciting things happening at GLCJ, and I want to give you a quick preview. We’ll go into more detail at our next family meeting on Friday, April 24th at 6:00 PM.  This meeting is for anyone who calls Gospel Life Church their Home!

Here’s what’s ahead:

We are now officially Gospel Life Church Jackson! While we deeply value and remain closely connected to our Cape campus, this marks an important step as we become an autonomous church.
A new website is coming soon: www.glcjackson.org. It’s not live yet, but we’re hoping to give you a preview at the family meeting.
A new app is on the way! Soon, everything GLC—from kids check-in and group messaging to sermons, prayer requests, giving, and more—will be in one place.
A future building is being planned. While we don’t have one yet, we are actively exploring what it would take to build a permanent home for our church.
We’d love for you to join us on Friday, April 24th at 6:00 PM to hear more about all of this. We’ll also be sharing details about our upcoming church budget, which runs from May 1 through April 30.
